Test Development Engineer
Based in Cambridge
Objectives
CBNL is looking for an experienced Labview programmer who has been involved with test
development from the initial product prototype schematics in a product development
environment seeing the test implementation right though to factory installation/training and
subsequent product life maintenance.
Person specification
Essential
- Labview programming skills 5 years mininimum recent experience and low level instrument
drivers to common GUI implementation
- Expertise in the design (architecture), development and use of re-useable test GUIÕs
used for volume production test
- Strong personal motivation to deliver solutions that require minimal long term support
but high flexibility in early development phase of the project
- Experienced in multiple product/version configuration with regards to manufacturing and
development test
- Clear understanding and experience of test solution regression/validation testing and
its impact on product quality
- Ability to maintain and improve test systems over a product lifecycle
- Understanding of the test requirements for volume production test and RMA
- High attention to detail and quality of deliverables
- Understanding of RF, analogue and digital circuits in relation to test development.
Demonstrable skills using the appropriate equipment.
Desirable
- Problem solving with respect to all aspects of test (Mechanical, Electrical and
Software)
- Been involved in generating test methods (suitable for coding) from a schematic with
minimal help from development engineers
- Experience in statistical production data collection and its use to hi-light design and
test issues early in the development cycle and throughout production
- Experience of coding for database utilities
- Understands the fixture requirements for a volume product
- Experience of international travel for manufacturing test commissioning and support
- Capable off explaining test implementation to enable a manufacturing test engineer to
fix a product fault
